Guest Instructors

Adam Boehmer

An avid jazz dancer for over a decade, Adam Boehmer invokes the spirit within. He is often sought after as an entertaining instructor and performer, or sometimes just to show up; his positive energy is relentless.

As a teacher, he presents an honest and fresh perspective on dance and boils down advanced concepts into graspable, concrete information. He believes that a good instructor is one-part dancer, one-part comedian and one-part poet. As a competitor and performer, he brings a jovial and effervescent feel to the floor. Confident in Jazz Dance as a path to one’s overall individualism, Adam stresses the break-down of preconceived notions concerning style, culture, and gender roles in dance.

He is currently on a one-year roadtrip with his partner, teaching dance and making art.

Audrey Kanemoto

Audrey Kanemoto wanted to grow up to be Fred Astaire and started tap dancing at age 11. She found the excitement of being Ginger through partner dancing and lindy hop in 2001. She continued work on her technique, style, and stage quality with lindy hop performance groups SF Bounce, The Swing Cats Rhythm Revue, and the 3-Minute Maniacs.

Audrey has travelled and competed at lindy hop events and camps earning a name for herself as an exuberant and passionate solo charleston dancer. Her highest lindy hop success was a clean sweep of the three first place trophies at Inspiration Weekend 2007 in Orange County. When she is not dancing, Audrey is an architect specializing in green custom residential additions and remodels.

Audrey runs and teaches classes at Wednesday Night Hop in Mountain View. She also teaches weekly classes on Monday nights with Nathan Dias in the Sunset district at Amura Dance Studio in San Francisco.

Kelli Wilkerson

Kelli Wilkerson has been dancing Lindy Hop, East coast swing, balboa and charleston since early 1998 and has been competing and teaching for 8 of those years. She has placed and won many national titles in many esteemed competitions such as The American Lindy Hop Championships, Ultimate Lindy Hop Championships, Camp Hollywood/National Jitterbug Competition, Swing by the Sea, Jitterbug Jam, Triple Crown Los Angeles, Boston Tea Party and many more. She has also taught workshops and lessons at many of the above named competitions and also in places such as San Francisco CA, Los Angeles Ca, Denver Colo, Minneapolis Mn, Madison WI, Boston MA, Nashville TN, Portland OR, Stamford CN, Pasadena Ca, Davis and Sacramento CA. She is a masterful fast lindy and Charleston dancer with a knack for showmanship who encourages great basics and fundamentals so you can have fun dancing with anyone at any speed.

Patrick Wall

Patrick Wall has been a staple of the Sacramento dance scene for the past 8 years. Since picking up Lindy Hop from his older siblings in 1999 Patrick won his first major competition at Jitterbug Jam in Southern California. He has taught classes with Carla Heiney, Kelli Wilkerson and Kara Noyes. A favorite lead of follows from all over the country, Patrick is known for his fun fluid dance style and attention to musicality. As a teacher, he specializes in breaking down the basics and keeping the attention of large classes with his array of animal noises. It may be difficult to keep track of Patrick on the dance floor, as he changes his shirt every few songs because he dances so hard. Some in the Sacramento dance scene like to joke that he runs his very own wet t-shirt contest. You can tell the follows who have been dancing with him because their left side is damp. On weekends and warm summer nights, Patrick can be found riding his horse and training for reined cowhorse competitions. Maybe for his next class he’ll teach us how to stay on a bucking bronco. And who can resist a dancing cowboy?
